The residential area in Brno - Červený kopec
Štollová, Martina ; Hurník,, Petr (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
Master's thesis deals with the Red Hill, a place situated inside the urban area of Brno, close to the historic center, close to the newly established and still growing campus of Masaryk University. Red hill with its gardening colony remains blank space on the map of Brno, the goal here was to create a functional urban structure that would place the space in the city map. Not to make an urban mash on the peripherals, but build a real city organism into the hearth of the city Brno.
Design of a contemporary city district in the environment of the historic city.
Landa, Karel ; Obrtlík,, Jan (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
The assignment of the diploma thesis was set to design new structure inside of historic city, which in the past went through major changes due to construction of main road leading through and dividing it to the 2 parts by creating a psychological barrier. This road was built mainly because of the construction of nuclear plant Dukovany to transit its part and component via this road. Simultaneously the thesis assignment was to design new bus station to replace existing one which is oversized from its completion and to incorporate this bus station to the life of the city. In my proposal I was creating the city structure by using principles set by historic structure of the city adapted to modern normative requirements while finding new genius loci of the area, which is in my proposal created by uncovering the Stařečka stream, which was hidden by construction of bus station. Next goal of the proposal was to improve possibility to walk faster through city by creating shortcuts and paths for the main and most important users of the city which are the people.
Brno lives on Veveří
Tymová, Romana ; Joja, Milan (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the preparation of an urban study, which extends in the area between Žižkova, Šumavská, Kounicova and Nerudova streets. Emphasis is then placed on Veveří Street, which lacks most of urban character. The central territory for this design is often associated with the term Akademické náměstí. This place, dominated by the "Brněnská trojčata", is now defined by an unsightly parking area, a collection yard and a grassy forecourt of the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University. The aim of the design is to make Veveří Street a full-fledged attractive urban avenue, to complement the disparate structure of the place with appropriate volumes with new functions and facilities, and to design appropriate modifications to the newly created public spaces. The work also includes an architectural design of one of the newly designed buildings.
Future housing
Križanovská, Ivana ; Čajánek, Rostislav (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
The design is a modular structure, repeating itself in cities around the world. The space grid, which forms the platform for mobile housing, provides the city nomad with the ability to easily move from city to city and live with its small home anywhere.
